Terms and Agreement

Effective October 15, 2026 · Version 2026-10-v2

Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, policies, prayer and health terms, billing, Privacy Policy acknowledgment and consents, and the Biblical Dispute Resolution Agreement, in one agreement that every member accepts.

Welcome to LikeFaithLink. We built this place to help believers connect with like-faith believers, filter out content they don't want, and enjoy a purposeful, meaningful, faith-building experience for the Kingdom of Christ. This Agreement explains the rules that make that possible. Please read it carefully, especially Section 27 (Biblical Dispute Resolution), which affects your legal rights.

Contents. Part A, The Agreement (§§ 1–4) · Part B, Community (§§ 5–13) · Part C, Prayer, Health, and AI (§§ 14–15) · Part D, Listings (§ 16) · Part E, Billing (§ 17) · Part F, Privacy and Consents (§ 18) · Part G, Legal Terms (§§ 19–26) · Part H, Biblical Dispute Resolution (§ 27) · Part I, General (§§ 28–30)

Part A: The Agreement

1. The Terms and Agreement, and how you accept it

One agreement for everyone. This Terms and Agreement (the "Agreement") is a binding agreement between you and Turner Vine Holdings LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company ("LikeFaithLink," "we," "us," or "our"), the operator of likefaithlink.com, our apps, and related services (together, the "Service"). It brings into one document everything every member must accept: our Terms of Service, the Biblical Dispute Resolution Agreement (Section 27), our Community Guidelines, the No-Endorsement Policy, the Church Moderation Policy, the AI Prayer Disclaimer, the Prayer and Health Information terms, the billing terms, and your acknowledgment of our Privacy Policy and the consents described in Section 18.

How you accept. You accept this Agreement by checking the box on the Acceptance and Consent screen at sign-up that says you agree to the Terms and Agreement, including the Biblical Dispute Resolution Agreement, and then creating your account. That box is not pre-checked. Two separate consents follow it, one to processing of your faith and religious information and one to processing of any health information you choose to put in prayer requests. Each is a separate, unchecked box, and neither is bundled with this Agreement (see Section 18). If you don't accept this Agreement, please don't create an account or use the Service. In this Agreement, "these Terms" and "this Agreement" mean the same thing.

Version records. Each version of this Agreement has a version number and an effective date. When you accept, we keep a record of the version, the date and time, and the state of each checkbox. When we materially change this Agreement, we'll ask you to accept the new version before you continue using account features (see Section 28).

Related terms. Some areas have additional terms, which become part of this Agreement when you use those areas. These include the Job Board Terms, the Equal Employment Opportunity Notice, and our short-form Policies. Short-form policies summarize this Agreement, and if they conflict with it, this Agreement controls. If additional terms for a particular area conflict with this Agreement, those additional terms control for that area only, except that Section 27 (Biblical Dispute Resolution) always controls how disputes are resolved.

Plain-language summary. This summary is not a substitute for the full Agreement.

  • You must be 18 or older to have an account.
  • Be truthful and kind.
  • You own what you post and are responsible for it, and we don't endorse what users, churches, or listers post.
  • Churches can moderate their own spaces more strictly, but our rules apply everywhere.
  • Keep prayer requests general and don't share other people's health details.
  • AI prayer content can be wrong.
  • Paid plans renew until you cancel. The $7 Item Boost is non-refundable once applied unless the law requires otherwise.
  • We don't check out charities, missionaries, employers, or businesses.
  • Disputes are resolved the biblical way, not in court. First privately, then with witnesses, then with your churches. If that doesn't work, a panel of pastors decides, and the decision is final and binding. Crimes, abuse, and emergencies always go to the authorities. See Section 27.

2. Eligibility and ages

18 and older. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, to create an account or use account features. At sign-up you'll confirm that you are 18 or older. You must not be barred from using the Service under applicable law. If we previously removed you, you may not use the Service unless we permit you to return.

LikeFaithMatch (18+ only, separate gate). LikeFaithMatch, our fellowship feature for single adults, is limited to adults 18 and older. Before entering LikeFaithMatch you must pass a separate age confirmation and accept the LikeFaithMatch safety notice (Section 12), even if you already confirmed your age at sign-up. We may use additional age-assurance steps.

No accounts for minors. Until we launch a children's feature with its own terms, people under 18 may not have their own accounts. Children may appear on the Service only as described in Section 13, through content that a parent or legal guardian posts and controls in a private Family Group.

Children under 13. Children under 13 may not have any account. If we ever offer accounts or features to children under 13, we will first get verifiable parental consent as required by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the FTC's COPPA Rule, as amended. Before launching any feature for children, we will publish separate Children's Terms and a parental-consent process.

If we learn that someone under 18 has an account, we'll close it and delete the minor's personal information as required by law.

3. Your account

  • Give accurate information and keep it current. Don't impersonate anyone or misrepresent your connection to a church, ministry, business, or organization.
  • Keep your login credentials secure. You're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us right away at support@likefaithlink.com if you think your account has been compromised.
  • One person per personal account. Accounts that represent a church, ministry, business, or organization must be managed by someone authorized to act for it.
  • You may not sell, transfer, or share your account.

4. A faith-based community

LikeFaithLink is a Christian, faith-based community. We may organize, feature, curate, and describe content from a Christian perspective, and churches on the Service may hold a wide range of doctrinal positions. Joining doesn't require you to hold any particular belief, but you agree to engage respectfully with a community that is built around Christian faith. Nothing here is a statement of doctrine by LikeFaithLink on behalf of any church.

Part B: Community

5. Community Guidelines and acceptable use

"Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers." — Ephesians 4:29 (KJV)

Why we do this: we want every conversation here to build people up. The legal rules below are what we actually enforce.

You agree to follow our Community Guidelines and not to use the Service to post, send, or do any of the following:

  1. Illegal content or activity, or content that promotes, facilitates, or instructs illegal acts.
  2. Child sexual exploitation or abuse of any kind, including sexualized images of minors or grooming. We report apparent child sexual exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement as required by law.
  3. Threats, violence, or incitement, including threats against churches, houses of worship, or individuals, and content that glorifies or supports violent extremism or terrorism.
  4. Harassment, bullying, stalking, or doxxing, including sharing someone's private information (address, phone, workplace, children's school, prayer requests, health information) without permission.
  5. Hateful conduct that attacks or dehumanizes people, or calls for harm against them, based on race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, disability, religion, age, or other characteristics protected by law. Respectful discussion of doctrine, theology, and moral teaching is not, by itself, a violation.
  6. Sexually explicit or pornographic content, and sexual solicitation.
  7. Fraud, scams, and deception, including fake charities, fake missionaries, fake job postings, advance-fee schemes, romance scams, impersonation, phishing, and pyramid or multi-level schemes.
  8. Misleading fundraising — soliciting money for a cause, person, ministry, or need that is false, exaggerated, or not what you say it is.
  9. Spam and manipulation — bulk or repetitive messages, fake engagement, fake accounts, or artificially boosting content outside the paid Item Boost feature.
  10. Infringement of anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
  11. Regulated goods — weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco or vaping products, prescription items, recalled products, live animals, counterfeit goods, or anything that can't legally be sold or given away where you or the recipient are, in any marketplace or AgapeGrove listing.
  12. Election and campaign activity in LikeFaithActivism, which is limited to issue-based community involvement — no candidates, campaigns, parties, or election activity in that section.
  13. Harmful code or attacks — malware, scraping or harvesting data (including member directories) without our written permission, attempting to access accounts or systems you're not authorized to access, or interfering with the Service.
  14. Circumventing our rules — evading a suspension, block, or church-space removal, or helping someone else do so.
  15. Dangerous misinformation that is likely to cause imminent real-world harm (for example, telling someone to stop urgent medical treatment).

6. Your content

You own your content. "Your content" means anything you post, upload, send, or submit, including profiles, posts, photos, prayer requests, messages, listings, job posts, and comments. You keep whatever ownership rights you have in it.

License to us. So that we can run the Service, you grant LikeFaithLink a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable (only in connection with a transfer of the Service), sublicensable (only to service providers helping us run the Service) license to host, store, copy, reproduce, process, adapt for display (for example, resizing images), display, perform, and distribute your content, solely to operate, provide, secure, improve, and promote the Service, and to comply with law. This license ends when your content is deleted from the Service, except: (a) for copies kept in backups for a limited period; (b) where we must keep it for legal, safety, or enforcement reasons; and (c) for content others have already shared or saved, or messages you sent to others.

Your responsibility. You're responsible for your content and for having the rights to post it. Don't post other people's private information, photos, or prayer needs without their permission. Please be especially careful with information about children.

"So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God." — Romans 14:12 (KJV)

Why we do this: each person is accountable for what he or she shares. That's why you own your content and are responsible for it.

Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.

7. No endorsement

"Prove all things; hold fast that which is good." — 1 Thessalonians 5:21 (KJV)

LikeFaithLink does not endorse, verify, or guarantee any user, post, prayer request, church, ministry, missionary, evangelist, school, business, marketplace item, job, charity effort, activism opportunity, music station, or other listing. Content belongs to, and reflects the views of, the people who post it — not LikeFaithLink. Being listed, featured, boosted, verified as a claimed church, pinned, or shown in search does not mean we endorse, recommend, or vouch for anyone. Please use discernment and do your own research. See our No-Endorsement Policy.

8. Church profiles, claims, verification, and disputes

Free church profiles. Church profiles in our directory may be created by us from public sources or by users. A church may claim and manage its profile for free. Unclaimed profiles are created from publicly available sources, such as church websites and public directories (see our Privacy Policy).

Who may claim. Only a person authorized by the church (for example, a pastor, elder, deacon, staff member, or designated administrator) may claim or manage a church profile. By claiming, you represent that you have that authority and that the information you provide is accurate.

Verification. We may ask for reasonable proof of authority and may approve, deny, pause, or revoke a claim at our discretion. Verification only confirms that a claim met our process at that time. It is not an endorsement of the church, its leaders, or its teaching, and it is not a determination of any church-governance or legal question.

Disputes. If more than one person or group claims a church, or a church says its profile was claimed without authority, either side may submit a church-claim dispute through our Contact page. While we review, we may lock the profile, restrict admin tools, or remove moderator teams. We may rely on documents, public records, the church's own website or governing body, or communications from recognized leadership. We'll decide who may manage the profile on LikeFaithLink. Our decision applies only to access on the Service; it doesn't resolve ownership, leadership, membership, property, or other disputes within or between churches, which you must resolve yourselves or through proper authorities. We are not liable for any decision we make in good faith about church-profile access.

Church administrators' responsibilities. Church administrators must keep church information accurate, choose moderators responsibly, remove moderator access when someone leaves a role, and follow these Terms.

9. Church moderation framework

"Let all things be done decently and in order." — 1 Corinthians 14:40 (KJV)

LikeFaithLink lets each church shepherd its own local ministry space, within rules that protect everyone. Here's how the layers work:

  1. Platform-wide rules apply everywhere. These Terms, our Community Guidelines, the law, and safety rules apply in every part of the Service, including every church space. LikeFaithLink may review, remove, restrict, or restore content, and act on accounts, anywhere on the Service, at any time, regardless of what a church moderator has or hasn't done.
  2. Churches may choose moderator teams for their own space. A church that has claimed its profile may appoint moderator teams for its local ministry space (its profile page, church feed, comments, and prayer wall). Church moderators may add or remove content in that space in line with that local church's doctrine and practice.
  3. Church moderators may be stricter, never looser. A church may restrict content in its own space that is allowed elsewhere on LikeFaithLink. A church cannot permit, in its space, anything that our rules or the law forbid.
  4. Church moderators act for their church, not for LikeFaithLink. Church moderators are not our employees, agents, or representatives. Their decisions are the church's decisions. We don't review or approve each one, and we aren't responsible for a church's doctrinal or moderation choices.
  5. Report and appeal path to the platform. Anyone may report to LikeFaithLink: illegal content; safety issues (threats, exploitation, self-harm risk, abuse); and abuse of moderation tools (for example, using moderation to harass, to retaliate for reporting abuse, to hide illegal or dangerous activity, or to discriminate in ways the law prohibits). We'll review those reports and may override a church moderator's action, remove moderator access, or take action against the church's account. We generally won't override a church's good-faith doctrinal decisions about content in its own space.
  6. Moderator conduct. Church moderators must use moderation tools honestly and in good faith, protect the privacy of what they see, and not copy, share, or misuse members' information. Moderators who misuse their tools may lose access.

"Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock." — 1 Peter 5:2–3 (KJV)

Why we do this: local shepherds know their flock. We give churches real tools for their own spaces, and we ask that they be used to serve, not to lord over anyone.

See the full Church Moderation Policy.

10. Reporting, enforcement, and appeals

Reporting. Report content, accounts, messages, or listings through the in-app report option or our Contact page.

What we may do. We may, at our discretion and without prior notice where appropriate: remove or limit content; add warnings or labels; limit features (such as messaging or posting); remove a listing, boost, or verification badge; remove moderator or administrator access; suspend or terminate accounts; preserve information; and report to or cooperate with law enforcement. We may consider conduct off the Service when it poses a safety risk to our community.

No duty to monitor. We are not obligated to monitor content, and we can't review everything. But we may review any content, including in church spaces, to enforce these Terms, protect safety, and comply with law. Private messages may be reviewed when reported, when needed for safety or legal reasons, or as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use automated scanning of private messages.

Appeals. If we remove your content or restrict your account, you may ask us to reconsider by writing to support@likefaithlink.com within 30 days. We'll review in good faith, but our decision is final for purposes of access to the Service. Appeals of a church moderator's decision about that church's own space go to the church first (see Section 9).

11. Messaging and safety

"Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves." — Matthew 10:16 (KJV)

  • We don't run background checks on users, church leaders, moderators, missionaries, employers, organizers, or LikeFaithMatch participants. Optional LikeFaithMatch badges record limited reference or photo-ID checks; they do not guarantee identity, faith, character, intentions or safety.
  • Protect yourself. Never send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or banking or identity documents to someone you met here. Be careful sharing your address, workplace, children's information, or schedule. Meet in public places and tell someone you trust where you'll be.
  • Interactions are between users. You're responsible for your interactions with others, online and offline. We aren't responsible for anyone's conduct, but we want to know about misconduct — please report it.
  • LikeFaithMatch is for adults 18+ only, behind a separate age gate. See Section 12.
  • No messaging with minors. Minors don't have accounts, and no one may use the Service to message a minor. See Section 13.
  • Emergencies. We are not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number.

See our Safety & Messaging Notice.

12. LikeFaithMatch

LikeFaithMatch is fellowship for single adults 18 and older.

  • Age gate. Access requires the separate 18+ confirmation described in Section 2. Misrepresenting your age is a serious violation, and we will remove your account for it.
  • No background checks. We do not conduct criminal background checks of LikeFaithMatch members. Pastor approved and Father approved badges record moderator contact with a named personal reference; ID verified records a photo-ID check during a live video call, without storing ID copies. These limited checks do not establish that every profile claim is true or guarantee identity, age, marital status or safety. A missing badge is not evidence of danger. Use caution, never send money, keep early conversations on the Service, meet first in a public place, arrange your own transportation, and tell a trusted friend where you'll be. See Safety & trust badges.
  • Your responsibility. Your interactions with other members are your responsibility. We may remove anyone from LikeFaithMatch at any time to protect the community.
  • Confidential matching. Questionnaire answers, acceptable answers, dealbreakers and notes are never shown to other members. Only category and overall compatibility percentages are shown, as described in the LikeFaithMatch Privacy & Matching Disclosure at /policies/likefaithmatch. Joining, questionnaire processing and international discovery each require your separate consent.
  • Safety notice. Before you enter LikeFaithMatch, we'll show a safety notice that you must acknowledge.

13. Family Groups and minors

Family Groups are private spaces for families to share timelines and photos. Families of every generation are welcome, including children, under these rules, which apply until we launch a separate children's feature with its own Children's Terms:

  1. Adults only hold accounts. Only adult members (18+) may create, join, or administer a Family Group. Minors do not get accounts or logins.
  2. Parent or guardian control. Information, stories, and photos of a minor may be posted only by that child's parent or legal guardian, or by another adult family member with the parent's or guardian's permission. The parent or guardian controls that content and may edit or delete it at any time. If a parent or guardian asks us to remove content about their child, we will.
  3. Private only. Family Groups are private. Members must be invited by a group administrator. Content about minors may not be shared outside the Family Group or made public, and it may not appear in search, the Members directory, feeds outside the group, or any public profile.
  4. No public profiles for minors. Minors may not have public profiles, directory listings, or tags that link to a profile.
  5. No direct messaging to or from minors. No one may use the Service to send direct messages to a minor, and minors may not send direct messages. Contact between adults and minors on the Service happens only through the parent-controlled Family Group.
  6. Photo controls. Photos of minors must be appropriate. No nudity, partial nudity, or sexualized images of any kind. Photos must not show a child's school, home address, or real-time location. Location metadata (EXIF) is stripped from photos on upload. Family Group administrators can remove photos, and members may not download or reshare minors' photos outside the group.
  7. Zero tolerance for exploitation. Any content that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits a child will be removed. We will close the account and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement as required by law.
  8. Children's Terms first. We will publish separate Children's Terms and a verifiable parental-consent process before launching any feature that gives children their own access, and before collecting personal information directly from any child under 13.

Part C: Prayer, Health, and AI

14. Prayer requests and health information

"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." — James 5:16 (KJV)

"A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter." — Proverbs 11:13 (KJV)

Why we do this: we want to pray for one another, and we want to be faithful with what is shared. The rules below are the ones we actually apply.

14.1 We are not a health care provider, and HIPAA doesn't apply to us. LikeFaithLink is not a health care provider, health plan, or health care clearinghouse. It is not a "covered entity" or "business associate" under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Prayer requests are not medical records, and posting one does not create any medical, counseling, or confidential relationship. Accepting this Agreement does not make the Service HIPAA-compliant, and we don't claim that it is. We protect health information you choose to share as described in our Privacy Policy and as state law requires.

14.2 Keep it general. When you post a prayer request, you agree to:

  • Share in general terms. For example, "Please pray for healing for my family member" or "Please pray for strength during a hard season."
  • Not post specific sensitive health details, such as diagnoses, medications, test results, treatment plans, mental-health or substance-use history, reproductive or sexual health information, or genetic information. This applies to you, and especially to anyone else.
  • Not post someone else's health information without that person's permission. If the person can't give permission, ask a parent, guardian, or legal representative. Even with permission, keep it general.
  • Not identify other people in a health-related request, by full name, photo, or other details, without their permission.
  • Use the right visibility setting and remember that prayer requests you share may be seen by other members according to that setting (Public, Followers, Family, or Only me).

We may edit or remove prayer requests that include specific health details or other people's private information, and we may ask you to revise them.

14.3 Your consent to health information. If you choose to include any information about your own health in a prayer request, even in general terms, you give your express consent for us to collect, store, display according to your settings, and process it to provide the prayer features you choose. That includes AI processing if you use AI prayer helps (Section 15). You give this consent separately, on the Acceptance and Consent screen and again before your first prayer post (see Section 18). You may withdraw it at any time. If you do, we'll stop collecting health information from you and delete prayer requests containing it on request, but you may not be able to post prayer requests.

14.4 AI processing notice. If you use AI-assisted prayer features, the text you enter, which may include health information, is sent to our third-party AI provider, OpenAI, to generate a response. Please keep that text general, too.

14.5 Not for emergencies or medical advice. Prayer requests are not monitored in real time. If you or someone else is in danger or experiencing a medical or mental-health emergency, call 911. For a suicidal crisis, call or text 988 in the U.S. Always seek advice from a qualified health professional.

15. AI-assisted prayer content

"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." — Philippians 4:6 (KJV)

The Prayer page may offer prayers, suggestions, or other content generated with artificial intelligence ("AI content") provided by a third-party provider, OpenAI. By using these features you understand and agree that:

  • AI content is generated by a computer program. It may be inaccurate, incomplete, or theologically mistaken, and it may misquote, misattribute, or misapply Scripture. Always check Scripture references for yourself.
  • AI content is not from God, a pastor, or LikeFaithLink's statement of belief, and it is not pastoral, medical, mental-health, legal, or financial advice or counseling.
  • AI content is no substitute for your own prayer, the Bible, your local church, or professional help. If you're in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, U.S.) or your local emergency number.
  • What you type into AI features, including any health information (see Section 14), is sent to our AI provider to generate a response, as described in our Privacy Policy. Don't include other people's private information without their permission.
  • You're responsible for how you use, edit, or share AI content. If you post it, it's your content under these Terms.

See the AI Prayer Disclaimer. This Section also applies to our other AI features, including Ask FaithGuide and resume review.

Part D: Listings

16. Listings, marketplaces, jobs, giving, missions, activism, and music

The Service lets churches, members, businesses, and organizers post listings. LikeFaithLink is not a party to any transaction, gift, job, volunteer arrangement, or event between users, and does not act as a seller, buyer, broker, agent, employer, charity, fundraiser, escrow, or event organizer.

Businesses and marketplaces (LydiaLane, KingdomBuilders, AgapeGrove). Sellers and offerors are solely responsible for their listings, items, services, prices, quality, safety, legality, delivery, taxes, licenses, and any warranties. We don't inspect items or vet businesses. AgapeGrove items and services are offered free by the people who post them; "free" doesn't mean safe, as-described, or suitable. Payments and arrangements between users happen outside the Service unless we expressly say otherwise. Business descriptions such as "Christian-owned" or "Christian women in business" are self-reported and not verified. We may reject, suspend, or remove any business, church, or member at our discretion, with or without a stated reason, and we do not permit businesses whose products or services conflict with Christian values.

Jobs (LikeFaithWork). Job postings, applications, and hiring are governed by the Job Board Terms and the Equal Employment Opportunity Notice, which are part of these Terms. We don't guarantee any job, employer, pay, or outcome.

Charity (LikeFaithCharity). Charity efforts, relief work, needs, and volunteer opportunities are posted by churches and organizers. We do not vet, register, audit, or supervise any charity, church, organizer, or effort, and we don't verify how gifts or supplies are used. Volunteer activities carry real-world risks; organizers are responsible for their events, and you participate at your own risk.

Missions (Missionary Connect). Missionaries, evangelists, and mission organizations list themselves. We do not vet, endorse, or verify missionaries, their sending agencies, their doctrine, their support status, their field, or how support is used.

Giving at your own risk; no tax advice. Any gift, donation, or support you give to anyone you find on the Service is at your own risk and solely between you and the recipient. We don't tell you whether a recipient is a tax-exempt organization or whether a gift is tax-deductible; ask the recipient and a qualified tax professional.

"Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver." — 2 Corinthians 9:7 (KJV)

Why we do this: giving should be a free and informed choice. Please give wisely and check before you give. See the Giving, Charity & Missions Disclaimer.

Activism (LikeFaithActivism). Opportunities are posted by organizers, and any biblical perspective expressed is the organizer's own. The section is limited to issue-based community involvement — no candidates, campaigns, parties, or election activity. You're responsible for complying with laws that apply to any gathering, rally, petition, or advocacy activity you join or organize, including permits and lawful, peaceful conduct.

Music (LikeFaithMusic). LikeFaithMusic is a directory. Listening opens each station's or artist's official player; we don't host or rebroadcast audio. Featured listings are not partnerships or endorsements.

Part E: Billing

17. Paid services, billing, and refunds

"Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law." — Romans 13:8 (KJV)

Why we do this: we want billing to be honest, clear, and easy to stop, so no one owes anything they didn't intend to.

17.1 Free features. These are free for everyone, exactly as listed on our pricing page: church and ministry pages; directory search and the map; the whole Bible (KJV); and The Way, including live follow-along. Churches are always free to claim and manage. Everything else, including following and "I prayed," is part of the Member plan at the prices in our Billing & Refunds policy.

17.2 Member plan (subscription). The Member plan is an optional paid subscription that unlocks every feature that is not listed as free in Section 17.1, as described on our pricing page. The price, billing period, and features are shown before you subscribe. Prices by country, taxes, and founding-member access are set out in our Billing & Refunds policy.

17.3 Marketplace and Music listing plans. Optional Marketplace subscriptions (Business Starter, Marketplace Pro, and Featured Spotlight) and Music listing subscriptions (Single and Collection) renew automatically at the price and billing period shown before purchase; Music listing plans include Member plan access, while Marketplace plans require Member plan access and are limited to one marketplace plan at a time. Current prices: Business Starter $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year, Marketplace Pro $14.99 per month or $149.99 per year, and Featured Spotlight $24.99 per month or $249.99 per year. A marketplace plan requires an active Member plan; if the Member plan ends, the marketplace plan ends too. Placement benefits (such as "pinned" or "priority placement") are paid placements, not endorsements, and don't guarantee any particular result.

17.4 Automatic renewal.SUBSCRIPTIONS RENEW AUTOMATICALLY. By subscribing, you authorize us (through Stripe) to charge your payment method the then-current price at the start of each billing period until you cancel. Before you subscribe we will clearly show the price, billing frequency, that the subscription renews automatically until canceled, and how to cancel, and we'll obtain your affirmative consent. We'll send a confirmation that includes these terms and how to cancel.

17.5 Cancellation. You can cancel at any time online in your account settings (Profile → My account → Subscription), at least as easily as you signed up. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You'll keep access until then and won't be charged again. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription automatically — please cancel first.

17.6 Refunds — subscriptions. For subscriptions purchased directly through LikeFaithLink's website, you may request a full refund of your most recent subscription charge within seven (7) calendar days of that charge, including a renewal. Contact support@likefaithlink.com using your account email and include your receipt or transaction reference. Do not send full payment-card details.

When a subscription charge is refunded, the paid membership associated with that charge ends and future renewals for that subscription are cancelled. Your free account and free church participation remain available.

If you cancel without requesting a refund, your paid access continues until the end of the current paid period. After the seven-day window, subscription charges are generally non-refundable, except where applicable law requires otherwise or where we approve an exception for a billing error or service issue. We will always refund charges made in error (such as duplicate charges) and as required by law.

Apple App Store purchases follow Apple's refund process. Google Play purchases follow Google Play's applicable refund process; you may also contact us for assistance.

This subscription refund policy does not govern purchases from marketplace sellers. Those purchases are subject to the seller's disclosed return policy, applicable platform protections, and applicable law. Nothing in this policy limits your statutory consumer rights.

17.7 Item Boost (one-time). An Item Boost is a one-time purchase (currently $7) that features one item for 30 days. It does not renew. An Item Boost is non-refundable once it has been applied to an item, unless the law requires otherwise. If a boost was purchased but never applied, or if we remove the boosted item for reasons other than your breach of these Terms, contact us and we'll refund it. If we remove a boosted item because it violated these Terms, no refund is due. Boosts don't guarantee views, sales, or any other result.

17.8 Payment processor: Stripe. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. and its affiliates ("Stripe"). By paying, you also agree to Stripe's applicable terms, and Stripe's privacy policy governs Stripe's handling of your payment information. We don't receive or store your full card number. We're not responsible for errors or outages by Stripe or your bank.

17.9 Price changes. We may change prices. We'll give you advance notice of a price change to a subscription at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you can cancel before it does.

17.10 Taxes. Prices do not include applicable taxes. You're responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchase, except taxes on our income.

17.11 Failed payments and chargebacks. If a payment fails, we may retry, pause paid features, or end your subscription. If you think a charge is wrong, please contact us first at support@likefaithlink.com; we'll try to fix it quickly.

17.12 Test mode. While our payment system is in test mode, no real money is charged, and any "purchases" are for testing only.

Part F: Privacy and Consents

18. Privacy Policy acknowledgment and your consents

18.1 Acknowledgment. By accepting this Agreement, you acknowledge that you have been given and had the chance to read our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, how we use and share it, and your rights. The Privacy Policy is a notice. Your separate consents below are what authorize sensitive processing.

18.2 Separate consent: faith and religious information. On the Acceptance and Consent screen you may choose to give a separate consent for us to collect and process information that reveals your religious beliefs. That includes your church affiliation, the ministries you follow, faith-related profile details, prayer activity, and participation in faith-based features, all used to provide the Service. This box is not pre-checked and is separate from your acceptance of this Agreement. Because LikeFaithLink is a faith-based community, many core features cannot work without this information.

18.3 Separate consent: health information in prayer requests. You may also choose to give a separate consent for us to collect and process any health information you choose to include in prayer requests (see Section 14). This box is not pre-checked, is separate from the other two, and is shown again before your first prayer post if you didn't give it at sign-up. Without it, you can still use the rest of the Service, but you can't post prayer requests.

18.4 Withdrawing consent. You can withdraw either consent at any time by emailing privacy@likefaithlink.com. Withdrawal doesn't affect processing that took place before it. Some features may stop working after you withdraw.

18.5 Records. We keep a record of each consent, including the version, the date and time, and whether you gave it or withdrew it.

The Service links to and works with third-party websites and services (for example, church websites, radio-station players, music publishers, job application sites, Stripe, Google Maps, and our AI provider, OpenAI, through our AI gateway). We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, products, privacy practices, or availability. Your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

We respect intellectual property rights and expect you to do the same. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent that includes:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature;
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed;
  3. Identification of the material you claim is infringing and where it is on the Service (a URL is best);
  4. Your name, address, telephone number, and email address;
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner.

Designated agent: Justin Turner, Turner Vine Holdings LLC, 1348 Mays Landing Rd, Hammonton, NJ 08037, copyright@likefaithlink.com, DMCA agent registration DMCA-1083256.

Counter-notices. If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice with: your signature; identification of the removed material and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address, and phone number; and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the U.S., any judicial district where we may be found) and will accept service from the person who filed the original notice. We may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless the complaining party tells us it has filed a court action.

Repeat infringers. We will terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers.

Knowingly false notices or counter-notices may create liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f). Scripture quotations from the King James Version are generally in the public domain in the United States; modern translations, hymn arrangements, sermons, music recordings, and images often are not.

21. Our intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, logos, the names LikeFaithLink, LikeFaithWork, LikeFaithCharity, LikeFaithActivism, LikeFaithMusic, LikeFaithMatch, LydiaLane, KingdomBuilders, AgapeGrove, Missionary Connect, and other features, are owned by or licensed to LikeFaithLink and protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service as these Terms allow. Don't copy, modify, reverse engineer, or scrape the Service except as the law allows or we permit in writing.

22. Compliance with law

"Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God." — Romans 13:1 (KJV)

You agree to use the Service in compliance with all applicable laws. We may preserve and disclose information and cooperate with law enforcement and courts as described in our Privacy Policy and as required by law. You may not use the Service if you are subject to U.S. sanctions or located in a comprehensively sanctioned country or region.

23. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT, INCLUDING AI CONTENT, LISTINGS, AND USER CONTENT, ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LIKEFAITHLINK DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. WE DON'T WARRANT THAT ANY USER, CHURCH, MINISTRY, MISSIONARY, BUSINESS, EMPLOYER, CHARITY, ORGANIZER, OR LISTING IS WHO OR WHAT IT CLAIMS TO BE, OR THAT FILTERING OR MODERATION WILL CATCH ALL UNWANTED CONTENT. NOTHING ON THE SERVICE IS LEGAL, TAX, FINANCIAL, MEDICAL, MENTAL-HEALTH, OR PASTORAL ADVICE. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain disclaimers, so some of these may not apply to you.

24. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: (A) LIKEFAITHLINK AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR DONATIONS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE, USER CONTENT, THE CONDUCT OF ANY USER, CHURCH, OR MODERATOR, ANY LISTING, TRANSACTION, GIFT, JOB, OR EVENT, OR AI CONTENT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY; AND (B) OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (I) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (II) US $100. These limits don't apply to liability that can't be limited by law, such as for fraud, gross negligence, or willful misconduct where the law doesn't allow a limit.

25. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless LikeFaithLink and its owners, officers, employees, volunteers, and agents from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, your listings, transactions, gifts, events, or job postings, your church-administrator or moderator actions, or your violation of these Terms or anyone's rights.

26. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (see Help). We may suspend or terminate your access, or remove any content, at any time if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure for us or others, or if we discontinue the Service, with notice where practical. If we terminate a paid subscription without cause, we'll refund the unused portion of your prepaid period. If we terminate for your violation, no refund is due unless the law requires one. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 6, 7, 14, 16, 17 as to amounts owed, 18.5, 20, 21, and 23–30) survive.

Part H: Biblical Dispute Resolution

27. Biblical Dispute Resolution Agreement

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS. Except as stated in Section 27.4, you and LikeFaithLink, and you and other members who have also accepted this Agreement, give up the right to sue each other in court, including before a judge or jury. Disputes will instead be resolved through the Matthew 18 process and, if needed, final and binding arbitration by a panel of pastors.

"Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?" — 1 Corinthians 6:1 (KJV)

"I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?" — 1 Corinthians 6:5 (KJV)

27.1 Our conviction

LikeFaithLink is built for believers, and we take seriously the Bible's instruction that believers should not go to court against believers (1 Corinthians 6:1–8). Instead, they should seek reconciliation privately, then with witnesses, then before the church (Matthew 18:15–17). We are asking every member, and we commit ourselves as the operator, to resolve disputes that way. Scripture quotations in this Section explain why. The legal obligations are the numbered terms that follow.

27.2 Agreement to resolve disputes biblically, not in court

You and LikeFaithLink agree that any Covered Dispute (Section 27.3) will be resolved only through the process in this Section: Step 1 (Matthew 18 reconciliation), then if necessary Step 2 (pastoral arbitration), and if necessary Step 3 (three-member panel). The resulting decision is final and binding. No party will file or pursue a lawsuit in any court on a Covered Dispute, except (a) the Carve-Outs in Section 27.4, (b) a court action to compel this process, and (c) a court action to confirm, vacate, modify, or enforce an award as permitted by law (Section 27.17).

27.3 Scope: Covered Disputes

"Covered Disputes" means any dispute, claim, or controversy, whether based on contract, tort, statute, or any other legal theory, that arises out of or relates to the Service or this Agreement and is:

  • (a) between you and LikeFaithLink, including its owners, officers, employees, volunteers, and agents (the "Operator"), including disputes about billing, refunds, account actions, content removal, church-claim decisions, privacy, and this Agreement; or
  • (b) between you and another member who has also accepted this Agreement, to the extent the dispute arises out of the parties' use of the Service. Examples include a marketplace or AgapeGrove transaction, a listing, a church-claim dispute, a job posted through the Service, a charity or activism effort organized through the Service, or content or messages exchanged on the Service. Each member agrees to this Section for the benefit of every other member, and each member may enforce it as an intended third-party beneficiary.

Covered Disputes also include disputes about the scope, validity, or enforceability of this Section, except that a court, not the arbitrators, will decide whether the class/collective waiver (27.20) is enforceable, whether a Carve-Out applies, and whether the Neutral Fallback (27.22) was properly elected.

27.4 Required Carve-Outs (always available; never waived)

Nothing in this Agreement requires the Matthew 18 process or arbitration for, or limits anyone's right to pursue, the following:

  • (a) Crimes, child safety, abuse, threats, and emergencies. Any suspected crime, child abuse or exploitation, sexual abuse, domestic violence, elder abuse, threat of violence, or emergency must go, and may always go, directly to law enforcement, child protective services, or other appropriate authorities. Nothing in this Agreement, and nothing in any church or pastoral process, discourages, delays, or prohibits anyone from reporting abuse or a crime to the authorities, cooperating with an investigation, or seeking protection from a court (such as a protective or restraining order). Mandatory-reporting duties always come first. No one may require a victim to go through Step 1 with an alleged abuser.
  • (b) Emergency injunctive relief. Any party may ask a court for a temporary restraining order or preliminary injunction to prevent imminent, irreparable harm while the dispute is resolved under this Section. Examples include stopping the spread of private images, ongoing account takeover, or infringement.
  • (c) Claims that can't be arbitrated by law. This includes any claim that applicable law says cannot be subject to a pre-dispute arbitration agreement. For example, under the Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act (9 U.S.C. §§ 401–402), a person alleging sexual assault or sexual harassment may choose to go to court. It also includes requests for public injunctive relief where state law does not allow them to be waived. For those claims, the parties will still be encouraged, but not required, to use Step 1.
  • (d) Members who are not believers or who don't accept the religious framing. See the Neutral Fallback in Section 27.22.
  • (e) Regulators and agencies. Nothing here prevents anyone from filing a complaint with, or providing information to, a government agency such as a state attorney general or the FTC.

These Carve-Outs are mutual. They apply equally to LikeFaithLink and to members, and LikeFaithLink does not reserve any right to sue that members don't also have.

27.5 Step 1: The Matthew 18 way (reconciliation)

"Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican." — Matthew 18:15–17 (KJV)

Dispute Notice. A party starts Step 1 by sending the other party a written Dispute Notice. The notice must state the party's name and contact information, describe the dispute and the resolution sought, and include the words "Matthew 18 Dispute Notice." Notices to LikeFaithLink go to disputes@likefaithlink.com or 1348 Mays Landing Rd, Hammonton, NJ 08037. Notices to another member may be sent through the Service's dispute request feature or to that member's contact information.

  • (a) Private, one-on-one. Within 14 days after the Dispute Notice, the parties will meet or talk privately, in person, by phone, or by video, in good faith to resolve the matter. For disputes with LikeFaithLink, our designated representative, the owner of Turner Vine Holdings LLC, will take part.
  • (b) One or two witnesses. If the matter isn't resolved within 14 days, either party may, within the next 21 days, bring one or two witnesses. Witnesses should be mature believers, acceptable to both parties if possible, and not relatives or business associates of either party. They help the parties hear each other and establish the facts.
  • (c) Take it to the church. If the matter still isn't resolved, either party may, within the next 30 days, bring the dispute to the leadership of each party's local church, such as its pastor, elders, or another body the church designates. Those leaders may meet together, separately, or jointly with the parties to help them reconcile. If a party has no local church, that party may choose a pastor or a Christian conciliator from the Institute for Christian Conciliation to serve in that role. For disputes with LikeFaithLink, our role in this step is filled by a Christian mediator designated by the Institute for Christian Conciliation.

Good faith and safety. Each party will take part in good faith. No party is required to meet in person or alone with someone who has threatened or harmed them. In that case, the step may take place through a representative, a pastor, or by video. Statements made to reconcile during Step 1 are confidential settlement communications and may not be used as evidence later, to the extent permitted by law.

Moving on. If Step 1 doesn't resolve the dispute within 65 days after the Dispute Notice, or if a party refuses to take part, either party may start Step 2. If both parties agree in writing, they may skip or shorten any part of Step 1.

Time limits are paused. Statutes of limitations and contractual deadlines are paused (tolled) from the date of the Dispute Notice until Step 1 ends.

27.6 Step 2: Pastoral arbitration

"He that is first in his own cause seemeth just; but his neighbour cometh and searcheth him." — Proverbs 18:17 (KJV)

Starting arbitration. A party starts Step 2 by sending a written Arbitration Demand to the other party. The demand must state the claims, the facts, and the relief requested, and name that party's chosen pastor-arbitrator.

Each side chooses a pastor. Each side, or each group of parties on the same side, chooses one pastor-arbitrator who meets the qualifications in Section 27.8. The responding side must name its pastor-arbitrator within 21 days after receiving the demand.

The two pastors decide. The two pastor-arbitrators will hear both sides and decide the dispute together. If they agree, their joint written decision is the final and binding award.

27.7 Step 3: Three-member panel, if needed

If the two pastor-arbitrators cannot agree on a decision, or if either of them decides that a third arbitrator is needed (for example, for legal or technical expertise), the two will choose a third arbitrator within 21 days. The third arbitrator may be a pastor or another qualified arbitrator, such as a lawyer or retired judge, who meets Section 27.8. The three-member panel will then decide the dispute by majority vote. The panel's decision is final and binding.

27.8 Qualifications and disclosures for arbitrators

Each pastor-arbitrator must be an ordained or otherwise recognized pastor or elder in good standing with a local church or recognized Christian body. A third arbitrator who is not a pastor must be an experienced arbitrator, attorney, or retired judge in good standing. In addition, every arbitrator must:

  1. Have no conflict of interest in the dispute;
  2. Not be a party, a relative of a party, a member of a party's household, or a current or former employee, business associate, or financial partner of a party;
  3. Not be a pastor or staff member of a church that is itself a party to the dispute;
  4. Before serving, disclose in writing any fact that might reasonably create an impression of possible bias, including any relationship with a party, a party's church, a witness, or LikeFaithLink, and keep disclosing such facts as they arise; and
  5. Agree to act impartially, to hear both sides fully, and to follow this Section.

A party may object in writing to an arbitrator who does not meet these qualifications within 10 days after learning the grounds. If the parties can't resolve the objection, the Institute for Christian Conciliation (or, under the Neutral Fallback, the neutral administrator) will decide it and, if needed, appoint a replacement.

No LikeFaithLink control. In a dispute with LikeFaithLink, our chosen pastor-arbitrator may not be our owner, officer, employee, or paid contractor, or a pastor of a church any of them leads.

27.9 If a party won't choose a pastor, or the pastors can't choose a third

  • If a side does not name a qualified pastor-arbitrator on time, the Institute for Christian Conciliation (a division of Ambassadors of Reconciliation) will appoint one for that side, on the request of any party.
  • If the two pastor-arbitrators cannot agree on a third arbitrator on time, the Institute for Christian Conciliation will appoint the third.
  • If the Institute for Christian Conciliation is unable or unwilling to act, a court with jurisdiction may appoint an arbitrator under 9 U.S.C. § 5.

27.10 Written agreement to arbitrate

This Section is a written agreement to arbitrate. When Step 2 begins, the parties and arbitrators may also sign a short submission agreement that lists the issues, confirms the arbitrators, and sets the schedule. A party's refusal to sign one does not excuse that party from arbitration.

27.11 How the arbitration works

  • Procedural rules. The arbitrators will conduct the arbitration fairly and efficiently. The parties may agree, or the arbitrators may decide, to use the Institute for Christian Conciliation Rules of Procedure for Christian Conciliation (current version) or similar rules as procedural guidance, to the extent they are consistent with this Section. If they conflict, this Section controls.
  • Fair hearing. Each party may present evidence and witnesses, respond to the other side, and be represented by a lawyer or another person of its choice at its own expense. The arbitrators may allow reasonable exchange of documents and information.
  • Law and remedies. The arbitrators will decide the dispute under this Agreement and applicable law. They may also encourage reconciliation and consider biblical principles of peacemaking. However, they may not deny a party any right, remedy, or defense that the party would have in court under applicable law, and they may award only individual relief to the individual party.
  • Prayer and worship are voluntary. The arbitrators may invite prayer, but no party will be required to pray, worship, or affirm any belief.

27.12 Written decision

The arbitrators will issue a written decision that states the result and the essential reasons for it, within 30 days after the hearing closes. A unanimous decision of the two pastors, or a majority decision of the three-member panel, is the award. The award is final and binding on the parties, but it binds only those parties and only as to that dispute. It does not set precedent for other disputes.

27.13 Confidentiality

Steps 1–3, including documents, statements, and the award, are confidential. No party may disclose them except as needed to enforce or challenge an award, as required by law or legal process, to the party's lawyers, financial or tax advisers, insurers, pastor, or immediate family who agree to keep them confidential, or with all parties' consent. Confidentiality never restricts anyone from reporting a crime or abuse, talking to law enforcement or a government agency, or seeking help for their safety.

27.14 Costs and fees

  • Your own pastor. Each side pays any fees and expenses of the pastor-arbitrator it chooses. Many pastors may serve without charge.
  • The third arbitrator. Fees for the third arbitrator and any administrative or appointing-body fees are shared equally by the two sides.
  • Disputes with LikeFaithLink. In a dispute between a member and LikeFaithLink, LikeFaithLink will pay all of the third arbitrator's fees and any administrative fees, and the member's pastor-arbitrator's reasonable fees up to $500. We'll also cover any fees that would make the process cost the member more than filing in court.
  • Hardship. If a member shows financial hardship, the arbitrators may reallocate fees.
  • Lawyers' fees. Each party pays its own lawyers' fees, unless applicable law or this Agreement allows the arbitrators to award fees.

27.15 Location and virtual hearings

Hearings will take place by video conference unless the arbitrators decide an in-person hearing is necessary. Any in-person hearing will be held in the county where the member lives, or another location the parties agree on. For disputes involving only small amounts (under $10,000), the arbitrators may decide based on written submissions unless a party asks for a hearing.

27.16 Governing arbitration law

This Section involves interstate commerce and is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act, 9 U.S.C. § 1 et seq. To the extent the Federal Arbitration Act does not apply, the New Jersey Arbitration Act applies. Otherwise, this Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.

27.17 Court involvement is limited

Courts will be involved only to compel or stay proceedings under this Section, to appoint an arbitrator if this Section's methods fail, to confirm, vacate, or modify an award on the limited grounds the governing arbitration law allows, and for the Carve-Outs. Any party may ask a court with jurisdiction to enter judgment confirming an award. That action may be brought in Atlantic County, New Jersey, or in the county where the member lives.

27.18 Small-claims election

Either party may choose to bring an individual claim in small-claims court instead of Step 2 if the claim qualifies there and stays there. Step 1 is still encouraged.

27.19 Changes to this Section

If we change this Section, the change will not apply to any dispute for which a Dispute Notice was already sent. If we make a material change, you may reject it by notice to disputes@likefaithlink.com within 30 days. If you do, the prior version continues to apply to you.

27.20 Class and collective action waiver

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Covered Disputes will be resolved only on an individual basis. They will not be resolved as a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action, and the arbitrators may not consolidate claims of different members without all parties' consent. If a court decides this waiver is unenforceable as to a particular claim or request for relief, that claim or request (and only that claim or request) will be decided in court, after the individual claims are arbitrated, and the rest of this Section still applies.

27.21 Opt-out window

You may opt out of Step 2 and Step 3 (binding arbitration) by sending notice to disputes@likefaithlink.com within 30 days after you first accept this Agreement. The notice must include your name, your account email, and a clear statement that you opt out of binding arbitration. If you opt out, Step 1 still applies, and Covered Disputes may then go to the courts described in Section 27.17 and the governing-law clause. Opting out won't affect your use of the Service.

27.22 Neutral Fallback for members who don't share the faith or the religious framing

We want everyone to be treated fairly. If you are not a Christian believer, or if you do not accept the religious framing of this Section, you may choose the Neutral Fallback when you send or respond to a Dispute Notice. Under the Neutral Fallback:

  • Step 1 becomes a good-faith informal negotiation for 30 days, without any church involvement; and
  • Steps 2 and 3 are replaced by binding arbitration before one neutral, secular arbitrator, administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Fees are paid as those rules provide for consumer disputes, and LikeFaithLink pays the business share.

Choosing the Neutral Fallback is never held against anyone. No one will ask about or judge your faith beyond your own statement.

27.23 Survival and severability

This Section survives termination of your account and of this Agreement. Except as stated in Section 27.20, if any part of this Section is found unenforceable, that part will be severed and the rest enforced. If Step 2 or Step 3 is unenforceable as to a particular dispute, that dispute will be resolved under the Neutral Fallback (27.22) if enforceable, and otherwise in court under Section 27.17.

"Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison." — Matthew 5:25 (KJV)

See the plain-language explainer, Biblical Dispute Resolution: Why this is our model.

Part I: General

28. Changes to this Agreement

We may update this Agreement from time to time. Each version has a version number and effective date. If a change is material, we'll give reasonable advance notice, for example by email or an in-app notice, at least 30 days before it takes effect. Changes required by law or made for safety may take effect sooner. When a new version takes effect, we'll ask you to review and accept it (by an unchecked checkbox) before you continue using account features. If you don't accept, you may close your account and cancel any subscription. Changes to Section 27 follow Section 27.19. Changes never apply retroactively to disputes we already know about.

29. General

These Terms (with the documents they reference) are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision isn't a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, employment, agency, fiduciary, or pastoral relationship. We aren't responsible for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control. Headings, "Why we do this" notes, and Scripture quotations are for reflection and readability; they don't change the meaning of the legal text.
