Church Moderation

"Let all things be done decently and in order." — 1 Corinthians 14:40 (KJV)
Each church on LikeFaithLink can choose moderator teams for its own local ministry space. Those moderators may add or remove content there in line with that local church's doctrine and practice. Here's how the layers fit together:
- Platform rules apply everywhere. Our Terms, Community Guidelines, the law, and safety rules apply in every space, including every church space. LikeFaithLink may act on any content or account, anywhere, regardless of what a church moderator does or doesn't do.
- Churches can be stricter in their own space. A church may remove content in its space that would be allowed elsewhere on LikeFaithLink. A church can't permit anything our rules or the law forbid.
- Church moderators act for their church, not for LikeFaithLink. They aren't our employees or agents, and their decisions are their church's decisions.
- You can always come to us. Report illegal content, safety issues, or abuse of moderation (such as harassment, retaliation, or hiding abuse or other illegal activity) to LikeFaithLink through the report option or our Contact page. We'll review it and may override a moderator's action or remove moderator access. We generally won't override a church's good-faith doctrinal decisions about its own space. For those, please talk with the church.
"Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock." — 1 Peter 5:2–3 (KJV)
"...for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account..." — Hebrews 13:17 (KJV, excerpt)
Why we do this: local shepherds know their flock, and those who keep watch must give account. Moderators should serve, not lord it over anyone.
In-app one-liner (shown in church spaces): This space is moderated by this church's moderator team according to its doctrine and practice. LikeFaithLink's rules apply here too. Report to LikeFaithLink.
